So you are saying that you were told about these 'top secret' things in which plenty of players have asked about yet they refuse to answer? That seems to be as though they are really paranoid about losing their playerbase with the events that have transpired.

It is also a little unsettling to me to see that favorites among the playerbase have been chosen unless you work for k2. M3 or not you are still just one of the bunch. Even if you do work for K2 in secret, seeing that you seem to be ... in deep within the politics of the game... That is also unsettling.

I for one would also like to see an 'official' answer because there is no certainty that even though you claim to know this 'top secret' information, I can at least say for myself that I take it with skepticism. I would rather wait for the actual staff to answer and not think they got away with having to answer some questions because you swept them under the rug by giving them your own information.

That's the problem, people posting in this thread are interested in K2 responses. That was the purpose of this thread as defined by the K2 staff member who made it. Not in the responses from a third party that are filled with secret squirrel stuff. Those who are interested in pming an M3 for his vague info are aware they can do that and likely are posting in this thread because they aren't interested in that option. More vague answers aren't what people want, they want to hear from the company.

Hmmm most M3s have a way to communicate with Guinn other than PMs, generally I just poke him about cookies and chocolate because imo I'd rather not bother Guinn with issues he probably already knows. I do sometimes ask about maint, and reasons why server lock downs happen and gently nudge him to tell him about the community. Sometimes I tell him some issues on Bristia.

But I'm really staying out of this thread because I don't like giving answers to things that are
a. not my actual job description
b. don't have answers to
c. not really caring to answer cuz its K2 that will say something that may be different from my own, and I'd rather not give you false information ^^

Personally a few of the original M3/Vets that started as M3s were very vocal about their issues with K2

(my memory fades here because I can't search 70 pages of M3s to remember, and then there are 3 missing forums for servers that are gone, Vesp, Cesario, Test)

The community sometimes forgets that most of us are players too and we do this on our off time and we play the game like you do get nothing for it (except the 1 time when M3s got elevated to Vets...) and feel the same pain you do. But we're the first line between you and K2 here and we do take a lot of abuse because we've got different titles.

3. Everywhere I read, there are rumors of abandonment and/or inability to continue hosting Sword. What is being done to ensure longevity of this project.

So how can u tell if an item has been duped or if a player is duping? *Please note* im not asking how to do it nor do i want to know how to do it. Im just asking what signs to look for & who do i report it to?

I play on Orpesia & not sure if we have the duping prob like Ill has. But like a previous post stated, no server is dupe-proof.

And as for the angry/impatient posts regarding the lack of K2s responses...
1. yes we all want answers on the server issues
2. yes we all want a "fix" for the duping problem

But look at it this way....do we want them on the forums 24/7 holding our hands while they guide us thru responses, or would we rather they be working on fixing the probs the game currently is facing so that we all have a game we can enjoy w/out interruptions?

So feel priviliged that the M3s are at least tryin to shed some light on the subject. They dont have to do that but are doin what they can to try & control "angry mobs".

At least we have ppl that are givin what info they have. Compared to some games Ive played where the game company totally ignores the players.

So id just like to say thx for the M3s for any info they have or any info they can give us. Yall keep up the great work & hopefully soon all this will be over soon.

How's the communication with IMC going? Any closer to getting coding info?
Communication is getting better by the day, not sure what part of code you are referring and what would we do with them. We are publishers not developers.

So.. I lost over 3000 gold (thats real money eh) and 10 levels.. my ticket is ignored.. and now I don't think I should play because you may be rollback anytime you want without alert... right?
So the questions are will you look my ticket? and is it safe to play? or are you going to nerf me tomorrow morning again?
Please provide Guinn with the ticket number as these nature of tickets shouldn’t and no tickets will be ignored. I would request the entire community to understand this. The roll back was done in the interest of keeping the game fair and clean. Please do not think that we just wake up one morning and take a decision “ Let’s do a roll back”. Not the case and not our choice, not at this moment.

On the subject of IMC and K2, what was the real problem which prevented us from getting adequate tech support from IMC?
There were couple of concerns in business agreement which has been sorted out. Even I don’t have more details on this.

And does the 3.0 patch have the anti-dupe patch? I heard rumours that it did contain such a thing, but I wouldn't mind a confirmation
3.0 will bring along several security updates/fixes which will make the exploits to be even harder or near to nil to be accomplished

Yes, we are aware of this and are diligently working on to get a quick fix for this. We advise not to trade/buy/sell with them.

Are you guys working on the 2nd part of 2.9 or on 3.0(+ 2nd part of 2.9)?

Localizations is in progress and we should hit the testing soon and we wouldn’t be saying a no to any skilled hand who is willing to help. I will work out a option to have volunteers test this as well.

Sword is here to stay and we have no plans of Shutting it down. I would say do not believe in rumors

Can we submit a ticket for compensation for cash shop items used on very long raids where you ended up taking down the server just as we finally reached the raid boss?
If there is a loss of any cash shop item due to unscheduled/un notified restarts, Please feel free to submit a support ticket, the team will investigate and do the needful

Why were Orpesia and Bristia taken down when the major issue seems like it was with Illier, only? (and doesn't seem to be fixed either anyways, based on reports)

Why you bring servers online when duping problem still exist? Nothing changed on Illier, dupers are still here. How are you going to fix it?
We addressed exploits and we released the servers, unaware that there were a few other exploits already. Now we are taking our time to look into all possible options and address them before bringing it back online again

Will K2 battle botting? Not by banning them (useless) but changing and blocking the ways server works so bot software become obsolete? (I know it's a lot of work, but I think IMC should look in that direction, since banning doesn’t work)
We are battling Botting and are trying to identify and implement new ways to stop them. Frequent updates of anti hack solution will be implemented to tackle this.

Why no one monitors (IP ban) RMT?!?! Look at their websites, they sell SS/OCP/Chips... where do you think they come from?
we are taking every step we can to stop them, IP Bans isn’t a permanent solution. honestly speaking isn't bypassing an IP ban too easy? Instead we are looking at options of shutting them down for good while we ban them temporarily for now.

I don't know servers status but is simpler to do a fast upgrade to a full 2.9 that fix dupe issue rather than a "long" wait upgrade to 3.0, isn't it? We have a 2.9 client with some custom disabled functions, so i guess it's "easy" to write a fast patch to current version that stop the mass duping, or i'm wrong?

'Soon' has seemed to become the K2 trademark concerning SotNW. We are so far behind other versions, are we ever going to catch up with them?

We will catch up and be ahead of them in no time, not that we can do it immediately. I want to make sure that the patches we get don’t bring any companions to the problems we already have. As for the problems we are working to resolve it. As for the word SOON. I am trying to keep it as a trade mark of K2, with its real meaning.

We do have AMs round the clock monitoring the server, if you are not able to PM the AM, it doesn’t mean the AM isn’t there. It’s just that we are in stealth mode to catch someone redhanded.

Why is it that these duping problems have been going on since last year but just now are being addressed with downtime and rollbacks? Bristia's economy was destroyed by duping since December and never saw a rollback or effort to fix it.
We did and we are investigating issues as they arise if found true, we are taking them down for good. Roll back was unavoidable in Illier due to the impact on the game economy.

Could we ever see an edited drop table for Mystery Boxes? (Ie. no more otite perfumes, 80 chips and le blancs) So you mean to say - only UPC cards and selective uber items should be dropped?

Roll back is a last option we will be looking at and it is too early to tell now.

It's obvious that the duping is a server side issue. How much closer is K2 to fixing the problem as a whole, where as I mean, will there be any upgrades to the server we can expect later on to fix these issues?
We are addressing this at high priority level and there are a lot of changes made at various levels. That is all I can say due to security reasons.

So if I have unused Mysterious Boxes, then I can't use them anymore? If this is the case, then what kind of compensation is offered? I'm sitting on target cards in anticipation of this craziness going away eventually, but if they are all broken now then why bother?
You can use mystery box if you have them, as for the players from whom we had removed, they will be restored in a day or two. The Target card issue will be fixed within 12hrs or so.

We are a 200% rate server and gain experience points faster than other version since we are said to have this boost in order to catch upto other versions like kGE.

Orpesia has been a sardine can for a while now and a third channel would help a lot so Im wondering if Orpesia will see a third channel any time in the future or do we not meet requirements to have a third channel?
This is something that we have in the list to work on and I believe that Orpesia does meet up with the requirements. Let me reconfirm the numbers I have.

Our subscription package UPCs were said ito be given special skills at one point but that has yet to happen, any news on that?

I would point at no timely updates and less community interaction. I am working on improving these.

Concerning the test server, why were areas and content that was playable in test NOT put into the live game knowing in test it worked fine
Cetain aspects that were properly working on test were giving adverse effect on couple of other features and it was best adviced to remove them off completely until we had a fix. But you know there were still couple of broken features that we did release. We prioritised and released based on their impact level.

Also concerning patches, in the future can we expect to see FULL patch releases instead of getting bits and pieces here and htere causing use to wait a period of time before getting the full patch
At times we will have to break down patches and release just a part of it isolating the bugs and exploits it brings along. (During these times a part of the content could be removed) If this is not done, the community will have to wait a long time in between two patches

Will content in the Bazaar/Cash Shop be edited so the descriptions match what the items actually do or what you actually get from the packages
There are people working on this already and yes it will be fixed.

Will gold prices on GamersFirst be readjsuted to better match Target promotion cards since not everyone can access a Target store and if so when and what are examples of the future rates?
I cannot tell you anything about this at this time, but I will surely touch base upon this later.

Will more events come in the future similar to " Reffer a friend " that we had before were gamers can win huge amounts of gold from teh event WITHOUT having to use the Cash Shop to qualify?
Yes, we will have more of these types of events. Community suggestions will definitely be looked into.

Currently we do not have any open positions in the sword team. If there is any, it will be posted on the carrers page of www.k2network.net

What delayed that specified patch, or more specifically what was missing int hat patch that made it incompatable with the current installation
Bugs.. worst were Crash Bugs - they werent missing but found in abundant.

Whats the nature of your issues with the patches? Is it related to a character? Incompatibility with your systems? Communications issues? I'm sure we'd all like to know why this information cannot be relayed as well I see lots of other mmos tell people exactly whats wrong with their patches
translation errors and crash bugs cannot be revealed. Some players may find a way to exploit.. as there are bugs resembling to these currently in game, but yeah we are tracking who is doing what... Awaiting a FIX!!!

Any official updates made by K2 stating what is going on or a weekly summary would do so much.
Even a Bi-weekly update on things would be awesome. Just a simple quick statement on whats being worked on, events, etc. I hardly think thats much to ask, to be honest.

Roll back is our last option. We can track every single item and that is what is taking the time on illier. Once we are done, we will track every other server and take appropriate action.

How many tech people on average do you guys have working on the servers? Do you work on all of them at once or split the server duties assigned per person/group?
We have more than enough to ensure that nothing is left unattended to.

Is taking down the servers for an extended period of time (ie 3 days or so) an option to fix the current bugs or implement new content?
Extended down time is to fix exploits and undo what has been done by dupers.

install 3.0 with bugfix and screw down all stuff of everyone to zero.

the 2 dupers just got banned flooded the server with loads of elemental jewel and "legal" vis come from those elemental jewel. i know many people is still walking around in Illier with like 3000+ elemental jewel or at least 1000+ that they got from their trade with the dupers.

how can u be sure, that some cool stuff is gained from legal raids and not duped too? if this seperation is possible, its fine. if not... this game is not seriously playable.
look around how many bugged items are in use, bugged wings, bugged exp-tickets
Trust me I see everything - I am like the Almighty here in this game. Just a bit low on SP at the moment and thus the slowness. As for the bugged items they are of least importance to deal with at this moment. But wont last longer.

emo dupers were able to screw up a whole server with thousand of players? Impossible! What the eff????? Where are the AMs, where are the admins, where are the professional tech guys? What do they say about this?????
no seriously, i don't see why there is a hesitation in doing the right things, answering to the player who invested their money in your service instead of being silent and send some mods to do you job, and also why hesitated in taking necessary measures to rap.e all the dupers and duped items, fixing up the servers for everyone, making a start fresh asap
i paid a lot for this game. and i'ma lol and stop using K2 for the next 100 years if the very same thing happened like back in knight online happens again here. which also pretty much made me quit that game. few turks dupe, words spread out, K2 try to stop it a bit and then give it up by hiring some corrupted turkish admins, let it run and fill with chaos and dupers.
I understand your frustration and aggravation that you have been going through. This was entirely unavoidable and we are working hard on bringing back the servers with the least down time. I would request you to be patient while we work through this and feel free to have fun on our other servers while we fix this.

if every item has an ID (i read that somewhere), cant you set up an alert every time an ID is duplicated? can we get more details on how the game works? I know it's possible on database to detect when you have 2 same ID (if count=>2 where a.id == b.id... ugly sql code but it can be done) and then to set an account to "suspended" mode. Why cant that be done?

the game is currently at 200% standard xp since xmas 2007, when you give us 50%, does it mean we are at 250% or 300%? And how long will this xp boost last? it should be 300%- honestly I am not aware that the game is running at 200% Exp.. Like I said earlier I will speak with Neume

what's with mystery boxes? you said somewhere you "deactivated" them, will they be automatically restored after checking or do we have to submit tickets?

I want to know if the recent server instability was due to K2 Networks possibly taking/switching SotNW servers/hardware to support the new games I mentioned... or why is K2 Networks even looking to host new games without first making SotNW servers stable for its customers to enjoy.

This one made me really laugh :lol: I must really say this to all here... Each game team acts/works like a individual entity within the organization. I consider WR/KOL and any other game within and outside the company as my competitors and I compete with them and try to break their records of what ever they have. Do you think I will allow them to touch my resources/hardwares as I am competing with them? Servers are stable. It is just a couple of issues that have cropped up and are being cut down to the roots.

We will be sticking to our regular scheduled timings. However there are cases where we will have to take down servers unscheduled for a emergency fix or reboot. Nonetheless I will have a notification sent atleast 30mins prior to the shutdown so that you can finish your raids.
