I activated my gold like 9pm DECEMBER 31st ._. And its target so no premium? wtf. Just because you dont have a credit card/paypal to buy online means you should get less bang for your buck? i can understand a LITTLE less due to selling it through target, but its already a massive failure from target >_>

500 gold may not be much, but it's certainly better than nothing.

I'm not sure what's with a lot of other people in this thread.
Some people complain about not having enough Events or Promotions, and when we get things like this, more Q.Q

Attention Pioneers!!

We are running some exciting promotions for our dear pioneers this month end.
From now on – February 23 2009 0:00 PST to February 28 2009 23:59 PST (GMT – 8) –

1. All players who were under the Premium category for the month of January 2009 and also the month of February 2009 will receive 500 Gold! The Gold will be injected by us manually.

2. All the First time Premium purchases will be rewarded with 3 Forgotten Area Passes – 1 day pass

3. All Players who purchase 2500 Gold or more during this period of 5 days will be rewarded with 3 Ancient Area Passes – 1 day Pass.

Note: The last 2 promotions are eligible for the players who do transactions from 23rd February to February 28 2009 23:59 PST only.
The Forgotten Area and Ancient Area passes and the gold will be injected to the eligible accounts within March 10th 2009.

We hope that you utilize these promotions to the fullest

Also, i believe 3*1 day FA pass is going to be too short to attract f2p players into buying a premium pack. But well, worth a try.

Huh... how many MB did you get to be tired of aa passes?

Well, what can you give to new players that wouldnt make high level players cry?
If you give FA passes, most of us will find them useless because we're already vet. Same for starter packs.
The prizes must be useful to anyone in the game.
Since new players get vet quite fast now (it was much slower back in 2007), i think AA passes are suited for new players, it's a matter of weeks before they reach vet.

As for CS items to buy, the only one item i planned to buy when i bought gold was that advanced veteran pack (4x7days aa passes). Sadly, it was removed just after i bought my gold... :C
If you want "useful CS items", you'll want a purpose to buy them. Like master scrolls, you have to be able to get master in order to need those scrolls.
So unless K2 can release new content that will require CS items, you won't have "something worth spending more money". Stick with Vet/Expert scrolls, AA passes and MP for now.

This is a nice thing that K2/G1 are doing.

So why do people feel the urge to grab, grab and goad more free stuff.
This didn't have to happen, they didn't have to do it.

If is a cover for us, maybe, not getting our updates at the end of this month then I won't be happy or impressed, but, TBH, I have a lot of experting to go so I can wait.
I don't need anymore FA passes as I have 4 left and also 10AA passes.
For those of us on Orpesia dealing with the Perma-war the passes wouldn't be used anyway, who wants to waste them when there are PK happy players on a Carebear server?

Anyway, I digress and back to my first point....
People should be happy with what they get offered somedays.

No it's not that I have no use for cash shop stuff, but I don't need FA passes (not that I qualify for that one), I have 14 weeks and 3 days worth of aa passes already and I still have 10,000 gold so I'm not looking to buy more yet not that 500 gold even a big deal anymore what with the packages and target cards making gold so cheap.
